Flash and FLV Files and Techniques we're working on at RealEstateDemos.com
|
The Flash movie above is a 34 KB swf (Shockwave File), which is the type of file that Flash renders to display Flash movies. However, the greater majority of Flash movies on the Internet are only swf files and are not utlizing an external FLV (Flash Video) file, as this one is. The Flash movie above, pertaining to the swf is a mere 34 KB (Kilo Bytes), which all and all is still quite a large file on the Internet. However, the FLV file that it is reading from, which resides on the server is 8292.6 MB file. Although there are stand alone swf movies of this size and larger on the Internet, they really are not effective, because they take so long to load. As well, the controller that you see above is quite spectacular in its functionality. We will add different functionality to this and other FLV based Flash Movies in the coming future, one such addition will be a smart controller that only displays when needed and removes itself when you are occupied elsewhere on the page.
What makes the above controller a smart controller? First, it is able to control the movie file, as well as the audio file, all from one integrated controller. The smart controller above, once the movie is fully loaded, lets you peruse back and forth through the movie with ease, as well as giving you the options to start, stop, pause, skip to the end or beginning of the movie. Perhaps the most striking feature of these smart controllers is they integrate the sound quite well, in that you can pause or plaly the sound and that wherever you slide the movie to, the sound is right there where its supposed to be. |
